Revive A Passionate Sex Life This Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is a great excuse for a lot of things - to eat boxes of chocolate, to receive a bouquet of flowers, and, of course, to have amazing sex.
For couples whose love life seems to be waning, February 14th could be just the thing they need to reignite the spark in their relationship.
So, if you fancy a raunchy night with your partner on Valentine’s, take a look at our tips.
Practise first
Before slipping on sexy lingerie and lighting the candles, it is a good idea to practise alone first.
This may sound counterintuitive, but you will glean lots from doing this, including learning what you enjoy so you can tell your partner, and building your own sexual self-confidence.
“Using solo sex as a way to practise sexual pleasure while relaxing any judgements or thoughts running through your mind can help you feel more confident in partnered experiences,” Vogue suggested.
So get out your sex toy wand and start playing around with it if you want to improve your overall sex life, not just your alone time.
Talk
Before the big day, you could encourage your partner to talk to you about your sex life.
This might feel a bit awkward at first, but the only way you are going to know what they would like to change is by asking them, and vice versa.
By starting a dialogue, you can improve the connection between the two of you, as you are opening up and letting yourself become more vulnerable.
When it comes to Valentine’s Day, you will not only feel this connection when getting intimate, but your partner will also know what buttons to press to really get you going.
Go for the novelty
If you’ve been with your partner for a long time, you may want to elevate your Valentine’s experience from ‘everyday sex’.
In this case, go for the novelty factor. You could surprise your lover with some new sex toys, which will certainly add some excitement and stimulation to the bedroom, or buy yourself a kinky outfit that you know your partner has fantasised about.
Doing role-play, watching porn or getting a bondage kit could also increase the intensity and bring about different sensations by making you both feel more turned on before things even get started.
Create a romantic atmosphere
Although candlelit rooms and flower petals on the bed are scenes we are used to seeing on Valentine’s Day, how many couples actually go to that effort to set the mood?
It might be a bit gimmicky but creating a romantic atmosphere could be worth the effort, making everyone feel more relaxed and spoiled.
You could also play romantic music, such as melodic songs or tunes that mean something special to you both, as this can remove any outside distractions, as well as dial up the romance.
Soft lighting is, as everyone knows, very flattering, so use lamps or candles instead of the main light, and get a scented candle to create a lovely smell. Vanilla, lavender and sandalwood are known to boost libido, so light one of these after tucking into some oysters and you’ll be in for a night of passion!
