Study Reveals The UK’s Kinkiest Students
A sex toy retailer has analysed its sales to determine the biggest student spenders on sex toys in the UK.
The Daily Star reports that the study by retailer Ricky found that university students in the north of the UK tend to be the highest spenders, especially in Scotland. St Andrews University in Scotland, which had a £154 average spend, grabbed the number one spot, while the University of Sunderland came last with a £31 average spend.
However, students from the University of the Arts London and the University of Plymouth bucked the regional trend, both with an average of £98 spent, placing them in seventh and eighth place respectively.
Overall, more than two-thirds of students surveyed admitted that they had spent more on sex toys in the last year than in previous years, and many were swayed by environmentally conscious choices, for instance choosing rechargeable toys over battery-powered ones
Tracey Coates, a sexual wellness expert at the retailer, said: "We ultimately wanted to uncover where is home to the nation’s horniest students, and what better way to do that than to delve into our sales data to find out which of Britain’s universities spend the most on sex toys!”
She said there was a strong trend in Scottish students ‘upping their sex toy game’, meaning it was little surprise to see St Andrews claim the top spot, despite four Scottish universities within the bottom 10.
‘Come on guys, you’re letting your country down!’ She said.
Tracey said it was promising to see that students have become more environmentally conscious, which has had an impact on sales, with many customers opting for rechargeable toys.
“Who knew we could do our bit for climate change through getting frisky?”
